Some Days, You Just Can’t Get Rid Of A Bomb

The clip above is from the film version of the classic 1960’s Batman television series with Adam West.  It’s funny because when I watched this show as a kid I loved it without even recognizing how goofy it was.  Anyway, today’s my birthday, so naturally I’m heading up to Mohegan Sun to gamble away the money I’ve spent months saving.  Should be a good time.  Birthdays are kind of a weird thing.  When you’re a little kid, they’re the greatest thing in the world.  When you’re a teenager, they’re still pretty awesome.  Once you get past age 21 though, they start to get a little depressing.  As Jerry Seinfeld said “…birthdays are merely symbolic of how another year has gone by and how little we’ve grown. No matter how desperate we are that someday a better self will emerge, with each flicker of the candles on the cake, we know it’s not to be, that for the rest of our sad, wretched pathetic lives, this is who we are, to the bitter end. Inevitably, irrevocably.  Happy birthday? No such thing.”
